Just one day on snowshoes and you&#8217;ll wonder why you didn&#8217;t try it already! Before you strap on snowshoes for the first time, here are a few tips to make your first steps easier:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dress warmly, preferably in several layers, so you can always adjust the insulation to the conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Wear waterproof, breathable shoes with good insulating properties, preferably mountain boots or winter boots with good grip. In deep snow gaiters prevent the penetration of moisture.<\/li>\n<li>A hat and gloves keep warm those parts of the body through which a large part of the heat is otherwise lost.<\/li>\n<li>Take enough to drink with you, because during sweaty activities the loss of fluids is enormous. Insulated drinking systems make drinking on the go especially easy.<\/li>\n<li>Sun protection for all exposed parts of the body and good sunglasses are especially important in winter.<\/li>\n<li>Telescopic poles give better stability in difficult terrain and deeper snow and make it easier to move forward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"margin-top:20px;\"><p>In alpine terrain, consider the avalanche situation and weather conditions. Always carry an avalanche transceiver, avalanche shovel and probe. In addition, you should take a bivy sack and first aid kit.
