Contour

contour is the culmination of more than 45 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of climbing skins:

  • 1971 launch of the first adhesive skins made of mohair fibers
  • 1975 in-house production of climbing skins in Innsbruck
  • 1978 foundation of our company by Eduard Koch
  • 1997 production of the first waisted climbing skins for carving skis and development of transfer tape for renewal of the adhesive
  • 2004 Registration of the trademark “contour”
  • 2005 Development of the easy fix skin attachment with Velcro, protected by patent
  • 2007 contour easy fix is awarded the best skin attachment on the market by the Alpin magazine
  • 2010-12 Development of a new adhesive solution on a 2-layer basis, first practical tests and extensive test phase in cooperation with Tiroler Tageszeitung and Alpinmesse Innsbruck
  • 2013 Market launch of the new contour hybrid adhesive technology, protected by patent
  • 2013 Development contour tail clip: new skin attachment at the ski tail, protected by patent
  • 2013 contour skin cutter with offset cutting edge for retailers
  • 2013 first split skins with tip and tail attachment for wide freeride skis and skins for splitboards
